Volunteer

A great way to spread love!

“My hope and prayer and encouragement to each of you is to see people of all abilities as God sees them. Each of His children is beloved and valued. Each is uniquely gifted so that the work of God may be displayed—through every season of life.”

– Mona Fuerstenau, director of Lutheran Ministry Partnerships, Bethesda Lutheran Communities

Volunteering Time and Talent

As the people of God, we are blessed by our God with our time, our talents, and our treasure.  We are invited to respond to God with generous offerings of the blessings that God has first given to us.  In and through the church there are many ways that we can join in serving in God’s mission in the world.

Here are some examples of ways you can serve:

  • Assist with worship: serve as an assisting minister, a lector, or a communion

assistant.  Other opportunities include serving on the Altar Guild and ushering.  Join us for worship and see where you would like to serve.  We are glad to provide any necessary training.

  • Sing in the choir. We have a small choir that is very friendly and welcoming, and we would love to have new people join us.
  • Serve with Feeding Hungry Kids – our summer meal program that serves children three days a week from the end of Summer School until the start of the new school year.
  • Serve on a committee: Worship and Music, Fellowship, Christian Action, and Building, Grounds and Facilities.

We welcome other ministries at St. Andrew’s.  The gifts you offer will be welcomed and valued.  Please reach out to Pastor Karen Tews with your ideas for ministry and service.
