St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church was established in 1960 by Pastor Merton Luebke. The first Sunday worship was held October 12, 1960 in the basement of Shoreview Bowling Lanes, where services were held until the first part of our current location was built. Services started in what is now the Fellowship Hall on October 26, 1963.

The current sanctuary was completed in December 1979. In 1990, the stained glass windows were created and installed by congregation members.

St. Andrews has had three permanent pastors:

  • 1960 – 1989: Rev. Merton Luebke
  • 1990 – 1995: Rev. Steven Jacobsen
  • 1995 – today: Rev. Karen Jewell

St. Andrews is a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

We gratefully acknowledge the Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA as our loan provider.

You may notice on our calendar the acronym LAFF.  LAFF stands for Lutheran Adults for Fun andFellowship.  Please feel free to come and get acquainted with some of the other folks in our congregation!  LAFF meets for lunch at local restaurants for food and fellowship.  Each month the group decides  upon the next meeting time and place.  Watch the calendar for future dates.  Please know that you are welcome.

STAMP meets on the second Saturday morning of the month at the Delta Restaurant (on Sawyer St) for breakfast at 8 am and again on the third Tuesday at noon at Jansen’s (on Bowen St) for lunch.  Many wonderful jokes are shared by ST Andrew’s Men with Purpose as well as many wonderful plans to enhance the life together – please know that you and all the men of our congregation are welcome.
